Ignis Scientia is hungry, and he’s a pretty good cook. So he’s going to cook something and eat it. Eating food brings life. Life brings survival. Survival brings winning the game. It’s only appropriate his Limit Break, Gysahl Greens is also food.
Most of the spell slinging decks in this set tend to be very RU focused thanks to Vivi Ornitier, but Kuja, Genome Sorcerer really brings out the black mages, and then the transformed version, Trance Kuja, Fate Defied just brings the pain.
Everyone thinks they can fix the bad boy, but in this deck you absolutely can. Cecil hurts, but only for a short time, and he’ll do a great job making up for his past mistakes.
Frankly, it’s criminal that these wonderful lesbians didn’t have Partner, so in Limit Breaker we allow them to live their lives to the fullest, as Ragnarok, Divine Deliverance. Yes, that’s right, Limit Breaker is woke.
If anyone in the Final Fantasy universe is a Stormsbourne’s blorbo, it’s Squall. So much so that when she got into Magic the Gathering, she asked me to print a gunblade deckbox for her.
Emet-Selch, Unsundered may be a villain, but how bad can a villain be who constantly wants to make the use out of your garbage? He takes out the trash, but at least he’s going to make sure it goes to good use again.
Apparently Vayne is an animal lover, but don’t let that soft spot fool you. He’s going to be giving you poison counters, which is scary enough when he’s on the table in a normal game of Magic. As a Party Leader he just keeps coming back.
I love an alternate win condition, especially in multiplayer. Zenos yae Galvus makes for great removal, and his transformed side creates some really unique interactions in multiplayer because the whole table is going to be protecting the player you’re targeting to prevent you from winning.
Kefka is my favorite Final Fantasy villain. I love him because he just wants to watch the world burn. I realize that he’s not as deep as some other villains, but that’s kind of the appeal to me?
There is no room for shades of grey in this deck, unless it’s on colorless mana, but colorless mana isn’t grey, it’s colorless. So it’s fine. We’ve got menace. We’ve got vigilance. We’ve got counters and equipment.
